Step by Step Guide to Check and Change Transmission/ Hydraulic Oil

Welcome to another session of Massey Ferguson tractor maintenance tips with AgroAsia Tractors. In this comprehensive guide, we’ll discuss checking and changing the Transmission and Hydraulic Oil for tractor, ensuring its longevity and efficiency through a few essential steps

Park Tractor Smartly: When checking the transmission oil, find a flat spot and turn off your tractor.
Dipstick Duty: Locate the gauge (dipstick) under the driver’s seat. Wipe it clean with a cloth for an accurate reading.
Level Check: Insert and withdraw the gauge (dipstick), tilting it to assess the oil level. If it’s low, top up the oil.
Usage Matters: For tasks like ploughing or pulling trolleys, keep the oil level within the XX zone on the gauge (refer to picture ‘B’). If you plan to operate external instruments like a front blade or tipping trolley using gearbox oil, maintain the oil level at the ‘Max’ level ‘C’ (as indicated in the figure).

For optimal performance of your farm tractor, schedule transmission oil changes at an authorized and reputable tractor workshop near you.
Safeguard Your Tractor: Prevent Iron Dust Contamination in Oil to Protect the Gearbox and Hydraulic System

Timely Maintenanc:

After the first 600 hours, change the transmission oil by a recognized workshop.
Change hydraulic oil and clean the hydraulic pump filter after every 600 hours.

Massey Ferguson Tractors‘s Oil Capacity:

MF240/ MF 350 has a capacity of 33 liters for transmission/hydraulic oil.
MF260/MF 375/MF 385 can hold 36 liters, and MF385 4WD reservoir can hold 42 liters.

External Hydraulic Components:

For MF240/MF 350, the oil capacity for external hydraulic components is 36 liters.
For MF260/MF 375/MF 385, it is 39 liters, and for MF385 4WD, it is 45 liters.
